Arnold McAuley Obituary

Arnold J. McAuley, of Cowansville, passed away peacefully at Sugar Creek Rest Home on Monday, June 20, 2022 after a lengthy illness. He was born on June 14, 1929 in Adrian, PA to John and Florence McAuley.  Arn was a lifetime resident of the area.  He married Harvene Grace Shankle on August 27, 1955.  He was a brick layer and equipment operator, retiring from Allegheny Sand and Gravel on December 25, 1992.  He loved people and spending time with friends and family. For several years he served as a “red coat” volunteer at the local hospital. He was a long time member of the Burnt Ridge Bow and Gun Club.  His leisure time activities included watching football and baseball, fishing, playing his guitar, and singing. He also enjoyed being outside working around the yard and mowing.  He was a loving and dedicated husband and cared for Harvene until her passing in August of 2020.

He is sadly survived by his sons: Arnold J. McAuley, Jr. (Neva), Scott David (Jan), Daniel Ford (Debra); daughter, Amber (Kathleen) Goepfert; six grand children, and seven great grandchildren.
