Barry “Paul” McGinnis, 63, of Kittanning, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 23, 2022 after his battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer which he fought with such determination to beat until the end. He was born on December 24, 1958, in Kittanning to Francis and Mildred (Waugaman) McGinnis. Paul was always a very hard working man that went above and beyond to provide for his wife and children. He was a loving father and was very close to his children. He loved to act like a kid himself and get on the floor and play with his grandchildren. He loved going to Florida every year with his family. He enjoyed traveling, casinos, concerts, his slingshot, going on ATV rides, cornhole, and hanging out and drinking beer. He worked all of his life in line clearance for the electric utility companies, climbing, trimming and removing trees. He loved his job and the daily challenges that made him one of the best tree trimmers of all time.
He is survived by his mother Mildred McGinnis of Kittanning, his loving wife of 45 years, Stacey L. (Painter) McGinnis of Kittanning; son, Michael and Cresta (Master) McGinnis of Templeton; daughter, Lisa and Bobby Kline of Kittanning; son, Kenneth and Donna (Wagner) McGinnis of Kittanning. He is also survived by the many friends that he thought of and called his family and who some of them called him “dad”.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francis “Cuddy” McGinnis; daughter, Angela Leigh (at birth); Sisters, Vicky Lynn McGinnis and Carol Shumaker; Brothers, James and Larry “Pete” McGinnis.
