Betty Jack Obituary

Betty Ruth (Morgan) Jack, 83, of Kittanning, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at her home.  She was born August 8, 1938 in Worthington, a daughter of the late William M. Sr. and L. Caroline Morgan and was a lifelong resident of the community.  She formerly worked as a bus driver and was a licensed insurance agent.  She married Delmar E. Jack on April 19, 1958.  She was of the Presbyterian faith.  .  Betty was a sports enthusiast, whether baseball, football, ice skating or gymnastics.  She enjoyed any and all sports, whether in person or on TV, and was one of the biggest fans at her grandchildren’s events.

Betty enjoyed the “good ole” shows, the days of Doris Day, Bing Crosby, Dick Van Dyke and Carol Burnette, with Elvis Presley being a favorite.  She also had a love for musicals.  It could be Broadway, community theatre, local high schools or church musicals; she didn’t want to miss a performance.

After many years of devotion and sacrifice to her family, Betty was able to enjoy some traveling, the highlights being trips to Europe, Hawaii, cruises, and hiking down the Grand Canyon at the age of 68.  She started training for the endurance of the trip down the Grand Canyon and continued on for many years to enjoy training with many friends including Mindy and Sharon.

Last but not least, Betty enjoyed the pastime of shopping, whether she had a purpose or just to browse, she was willing to go; and of course lunch was always an added treat.  She was always willing to do more than her share of driving as she was rather proud of her driving skills and navigation sharpness.

Left behind to cherish her memory includes her son, Harvey Jack, of Kittanning, and daughters, Janine Muir (Brian), of Kittanning and Joan Rodriguez (Joe), of Moon Twp.; grandsons, Jared Jack (Kayla) and Evan Jack (Shannon), both of Kittanning; granddaughters, Janessa Shriver (Jesse), of Kittanning, Jalissa Jacobs (Greg), of York, Selea Rodriguez, of Moon Twp. and Seanna Rodriguez, of Moon Twp.; 5 great-grandsons and 3 great-granddaughters; and her brother, Rev. William M. Morgan Jr. (Jane), of Florida. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar E. Jack, who passed away in 2019, and her sister, Patricia E. Morgan.

Betty’s family is very thankful to Good Samaritan Hospice for their guidance, reassurance and care during their time with Mom.  They are most appreciative to Deb, Pam and Judy for their years of devotion, friendship, and attention to mom’s needs as well as helping to brighten her days!
