Beverly Darlene (Taylor) Kemp

Beverly Darlene (Taylor) Kemp, 86, of Worthington, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Concordia at the Orchard in Butler, Pa.  She was born July 25, 1938 in Kittanning, the daughter of the late George and Cleo Taylor, and was a lifelong resident of Worthington.  Left behind to forever her memory includes her daughters, Tammy Shaw, of Fenelton, Karen (Barry) Barton, of Butler and Sandy Kemp, of Saxonburg; son, Robert Kemp, of Worthington; grandchildren, Travis (Alyssa) Shaw, of Springdale, Pa., Lindsay Shaw, of Arona, Pa., Ashley (Dakoda) Collins, of Denver, CO, Brian (Jennifer) Barton, of Worthington and Todd (Julie) Barton, of Worthington; great-grandchildren, Calder, Bailey, Owen, Brady and Ava; brother, Satch Taylor, of Kittanning; best friend, Judy Coven, of Cowansville and good friend, Patty Mooney, of Struthers, OH; and pet cat, Curtis.  In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, John; sisters, Barb Mauthe, Sheila "Kay" Long and Peg Smith; brother, George Taylor; and several beloved family members.  

She was a clerk at A&P Grocery as well as a homemaker and babysitter.  She was of the Christian faith.  Bev loved going to concerts, sitting on her porch swing with neighbors, Donna and Butch Brocious, and their grandchildren.  She loved visiting Colorado.  She loved all animals and her family beyond words.  She enjoyed her conversations with nieces Amy and Sue.  She enjoyed John Denver and Melissa Etheridge music.  “Bevy” passed into heaven with best friend, Judy Coven, at her side reminiscing and praying.  Judy was there when she needed her most.  “Boo” holds a special place in her heart for great-granddaughter, Ava, and her kindness.  Also for her honorary grandchildren, Jamie, Jessie, Chelsey, Cody and their children.  Boo will be greatly missed by her great-grandson, Calder Shaw, the love of her life over the last 6 years.  “Butch” hands over leadership of her childhood Fair Street gang to MaryLee McMaster, and the family reigns to brother, Satch Taylor.

The family would like to send a special thanks to everyone at Concordia at the Orchard for being so kind and the exceptional care given to Bev in her last few months of life.  Also a special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice and Bev's friend Candace "B. Butch" for the care, kindness and conversations.  Another special thank to Bev's neighbors, Daryl and Donna Brocious and their children and grandchildren for always being there for her and loving her.  She loved all of them dearly.  Thank you to Judy Coven and family for all their love, prayers and support over the years.  

Per Beverly's request, no services are to be held and her ashes will be scattered in the Maroon Bells mountains in Colorado at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home in Worthington, Pa.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Beverly's honor to Sacred Souls Sanctuary, 304 Monterey Rd., Rimersburg, PA 16248 (www.sacredsoulssanctuary.com), Concordia at the Orchard or Good Samaritan Hospice.
