Blair Hooks, Jr. Obituary

Blair W. Hooks Jr. , 77, of Kittanning, passed away September 3rd, 2025 at West Penn Hospital after a long battle with illness, family at his side.  He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda (Walter) Hooks who spent hours and days at his bedside throughout his illness and multiple hospitalizations.  A loving father and grandfather, he is also survived by his daughter Tracy Futscher and by granddaughters Alissa (Aaron) Atwood, Jessa (Josh) Reitler, Alexa(Aaron) Markle, and grandson Colton (Tina) Futscher.   His legacy will continue on through his greatest joys; great grandchildren Torin and Paxin Atwood, Banks and Jovie Reitler, Meadix, Hayes, and Tripp Markle, Paisley Barnett, Remi and Hook Futscher.

A proud and devoted grandpa and Papa, he spent hours playing, running and helping to care for his crew. Time spent at the beach teaching his grandkids to dive through waves and nights on the boardwalk were memories to cherish.  Camp was his favorite place and all the generations loved spending time with there with him. Fishing, riding buggies, looking for deer and going for ice cream were activities enjoyed by all.

Blair served in the Army Reserves. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, Blair was a member of East Franklin Sportsman’s club, serving as treasurer for many years. He also supported the NRA through decades of membership.  Hunting camp with his large group of friends and family was a yearly tradition. One he eagerly prepared for and could always be counted on, and for helping his grandchildren scout and put up stands and trail cams.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Blair Sr. and Kate Hooks, sister Judy Hooks, and in laws, William and Madge Walter.

Family and friends will be received 4pm-7pm on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S.McKean St., Kittanning, PA 16201.
