Brian Moser Obituary

Brian Thomas Moser, 42, of Kittanning, and formerly of Point Marion, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born in Morgantown, W.Va., on March 26, 1976, to the late Thomas and Berta Moser. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Veron “Mike” and Madeline “ Madge” Leckey, his maternal grandparents, Wilbertee and Hazel Hovatter, three nieces, Jane, Jean, and Miranda Moser, as well as several aunts and uncles.

A 1994 graduate of Albert Gallatin Area High School, Brian was ordained by the American Baptist Churches, USA and went on to pastor churches in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, and Ohio.

After becoming a left below the knee amputee on Aug. 14, 2012, Brian went on to launch revAMPd, a podcast for amputees by an amputee which was heard in all 50 states and 53 other countries.

In 2017, he became a certified volunteer peer visitor with the Amputee Coalition and attended the National Amputee Conference.

Passionate about advocating for the rights of everyone living with limb loss, Brian traveled to Capitol Hill with the American Association of Orthotics and Prosthetics to not only share his own story with members of Congress, but to implore Congress to act to protect the rights of all amputees which lead to improvements in the quality of prosthetic care.

Brian was a member of Mt. Carmel Lodge No. 303 F&AM in Richwood, Ohio, as well as the Valley of Columbus Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Masons in Columbus, Ohio.

Brian enjoyed spending time with his family, swimming, traveling with his wife, exploring Pittsburgh, playing miniature golf, and especially taking his best friend, Buddy, for rides and to the park.

He was a lifelong fan of WVU Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots and would want everyone to know that Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback to ever play the game.

Brian is survived by his wife of 13 years, Amanda (Swigart) Moser, whom he married Feb. 19, 2005; one brother, Tommy Moser and wife, Shannon, of Lake Lynn, Pa., and one sister-in-law, Cortney Bavera and husband, Casey, of Ford City; nieces, Mackenzie Moser, Gianna and Leia Bavera and nephews, Trevor and Leyton Moser, as well as his beloved furbaby, Buddy Dawg and finbaby, Molly Fish.
