Carol B. Dowling, 81, of Kittanning, ended her long-fought battle with Parkinson's Disease on January 20, 2025. Born on June 22, 1943, to the late Kenneth and Twila (Crawford) Bowser, she was a lifelong resident of Western, PA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Dowling, in 2021, as well as her brothers Merle and Keith Bowser and sister Gaye Lackey, all of Butler.
Over the years she worked in various retail positions and was a driver for Mid County Transit Authority. Her most outstanding accomplishments were as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She always put the needs of her family above her own by cooking everyone's favorite foods, traveling great distances to support her grandchildren in all of their big and small moments, and praying for all of them. She enjoyed hosting both family and friends for game nights, dinners, and picnics, which often included playing country gospel music and singing.
She and her husband were active members of the Kittanning League of Arts. She was also an active member of the Kittanning Free Methodist Church for many years. She loved fun competition and her participation in the Area Agency on Aging Senior Games.
She is survived by her children Deirdre and Jeff Gallaher of Stephens City, VA and Derek and Tammie Dowling of Ford City. Other surviving family include 4 granddaughters Cara and Rob Abbott of Deerfield beach, FL, and their sons Linden and Connor; Larissa and Kevin Lynch from Fredericksburg, VA; Nicole Sabotula of Apollo and her sons Mason and Waylon; Courtney and Zach Feulmer of Apollo and their children Owen, Ryder, Colbee, and Rory. She is also survived by 2 sister-in-laws Doris Bowser of Butler and Dru Beattie of Pittsburgh; along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Saturday January 25, 2025 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Jeremy Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Chicora, PA.
