Cathryn Ann (Ruth) Bowser, 78, of Kittanning, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Heritage Meadows Personal Care Home. Cathryn was born September 12, 1946 in Rimersburg, Pa., the daughter of the late Clarence and Miriam Ruth, and she was a lifelong resident of the community. She was a homemaker as well as a manager at Harts Home Store in Kittanning. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Kittanning and also belonged to Kittanning Hose Co. #6 Ladies Auxiliary, was Past President of Western PA Fireman's Association (WPFA), the High Hatters and Old Timers (WPFA). Cathryn enjoyed camping, canning, playing cards, going to flea markets and spending time with family and friends.
She leaves behind to forever cherish her memory, her husband, James "Jim" Bowser, of Kittanning; sons, James Bowser, Jr., of Kittanning, Todd (Tracie) Bowser, of Kittanning and Bryan Bowser, of Kittanning; grandson, Andrew, of Worthington; granddaughters, Trista, of Ft. Myers, Fl., Kaylee, of Sarver, Pa. and Cami, of Sarver, Pa.; and great-grandson, Eitan, of Kittanning. In addition to her parents, Cathryn was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stanley and Mable Bowser; brother, Ernest Ruth (Babe); and infant sister, Sherri Ruth.
Friends will be received on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 1-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. at Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning, PA 16201. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with Andrew Bowser and Joshua Webb officiating, with an additional hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will be in Kittanning Cemetery.
