Cathy Sue (Masters) Anthony, 52, of Kittanning, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, January 17, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Cathy was born on May 19th, 1968 in Kittanning to the late Carl Masters Sr. and Mary Alice Gallaher Masters. She was married to her loving husband, Kevin Anthony, on March 18, 1999. She was the proud mother of Devin Anthony, a junior at Clarion University, and Noah Anthony of Lifesteps in Butler.
Cathy was a 1986 graduate of Kittanning Senior High School and Lenape Vo-Tech. She was also a 1990 RN graduate of Jameson Memorial Hospital of Nursing. She worked in the ACMH ICU for many years, and other hospitals as well. Later in life, she dedicated the remainder of her career to her children, working as the school nurse at Evangel Heights Christian Academy and as a rider for the school district.
She had a great love for her friends and family. Also surviving is her sisters, Marcia Long, of Worthington and Karen (Rev. Jeff) Hayes, of Florida; her brothers, Carl (Andrea) Masters Jr., of Kittanning and Dave Masters, of Florida; mother-in-law, Marcella Anthony, of Rimersburg; brother-in-law, Bradley (Carolyn) Anthony, of New Bethlehem; sisters-in-law, Lexie (Randy) Bryant, Cindy (Ben) Campbell, and Tammy (Tom) McClaine, all of New Bethlehem, and Brenda (Eddie) Moore, of Fishers, IN; and several nieces and nephews who adored their aunt Cathy and will miss her dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Bernard Anthony; and brother-in-law, Don Long.
Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Vision Hill Church of God, 13374 US-422, Kittanning, Pa. Additional viewing will be held at Vision Hill Church of God on Thursday, Jan. 21, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m., with Rev. Jimmy Swogger officiating. Burial will be in Kittanning Cemetery. At the suggestion of the family, in lieu of flowers, donations to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses would be appreciated.
