Cathy Jean (Martin) Valasek

     Cathy Jean (Martin) Valasek, 64, of Cadogan, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. She was born April 25, 1956 in Butler Memorial Hospital to the late John A. and Mildred M. (Bush) Martin, and resided in Cadogan for the past 20 years.  She was retired from Nationwide Insurance.  She was a member of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church in Cadogan.  Cathy enjoyed going to camp and she loved spending time watching her grandsons grow and play. 

Left behind to cherish her memory includes her husband, Richard D. Valasek Sr., of Cadogan; daughter, Jessica Mauthe and husband, Jake, of Kittanning; grandsons, Brayden and Bryce; brothers, John C. Martin and wife, Susi, of Tehachapi, CA and James A. Martin and wife, Jean, of Meadville, PA; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents. 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 2 p.m. at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, 1st & Main St., Cadogan, Pa with Father Ed Volz officiating.  Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Cathy’s honor to the National Kidney Foundation Inc., 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016 or a dialysis foundation of one’s choice.  Arrangements are under the care of the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.
