Charyl Lynn Peffer-Smith, 78, of Adrian, passed away Thursday March 5, 2026 at home. She was born December 11, 1947 in Leechburg to the late William and Ida May Mailki. She worked as a caregiver and was a member of Christians with a Vision in Adrian. Charyl enjoyed sewing, playing cards, reading the Bible, Diamond Dotz, going to the casino, and vacationing.
Charyl had a strong Christian Faith and love for her family.
She is survived by her daughter Charyl (Victor) Metzler; son Jon Doutt Jr.; daughter Barbara Metzler; daughter Kathleen (Ed) Croyle; grandchildren, Victor Robert Metzler, Arian Metzler, Ambralee Metzler-Bloss, Joseph Metzler, Sarah Metzler, Tiffany Croyle-Shaffer and Robert Croyle Jr.; great-grandchildren, Victor Michael Metzler, Ethan Metzler, Lydia Metzler, Holly Bloss, Hope Bloss, Colton Bloss, Emmaleigh Shaffer, Christopher Shaffer, Kaitlynn Shaffer, Kierra Shaffer, Maya Dimartino, Maleigha Ritrosky, Noah Ritrosky, Jacob Ritrosky, Robert Croyle III and Carter Croyle; sister Amber Peck; brother David (Laurie) Mailki; sister Linda (Dean) Snell; brother Ronald Mailki; sister Rachel (Rick) Dehus; brother Eric Mailki; sister Amy Delp.
Charyl was preceded in death by her parents; husband Homer Smith; sister Betty Bonner; brother John "Billy" Mailki; son-in-law Warren Metzler; granddaughter Jessica Croyle-Ritrosky.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday March 14, 2026 at Noon in the Christians With A Vision Church in Adrian with Pastor Tim Peate officiating.
