Clyde Davis Obituary

Clyde Allan Davis (85), of Fenelton, PA, peacefully passed away on December 27, 2021 with his loving wife of 66 years, Heritha Mae Scovill, by his side.

Clyde was born on July 10, 1936 to Lila and Marion Davis in Petaluma, CA. He loved the ocean and spent a lot of time at Bodega Bay throughout his life. If you were ever looking for him, you could find him by the sea walking through coves and exploring tide pools.

After graduating high school, Clyde attended Brigham Young University. He worked as a dairyman for many of his young adult years before beginning his beloved career as a woodworker making custom furniture and eventually owning his own wood shop. Clyde could always be found covered in sawdust and carrying a tape measure.

After retirement, Clyde and his wife traveled the United States working at flea markets selling their handmade items. He loved fishing, computers, and always loved trying new foods. He enjoyed listening and playing music and shared his talents with others by playing the organ, banjo, and accordion.

Clyde and Heritha eventually settled in LaGrange, IN where he felt at home as he shared his woodworking love and knowledge with his Amish neighbors. As his health declined, they relocated to Fenelton, PA to be near his daughter and son-in-law where he lived the last 9 years of his life.

Clyde was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many volunteer church roles, including bishop of the Sebastapool Ward in California.

Clyde and Heritha had 3 children: Heather Marie, Carisa Marie, and Daryl Allan.

Clyde was predeceased by his mother and father, Lila and Marion Davis, his daughter, Heather Marie, and sister-in-law, Norma Scovill. He is survived by his wife, Heritha, his daughter, Carisa (Richard) Barnett, son Daryl (Terri), brother-in-law, Gilbert Scovill, grandchildren, Andy Barnett, Justin (Justine) Barnett, Kristina (Chris) Carlsen, Alyssa (Mitch) Oakes, Amber, Nicholas (Allyson), Heather (Nick), Colton Barnett, Ryan (Sami), Charles Dyess, and JoAnna Dyess. Clyde was also loved by his 8 great grandchildren.

Clyde and Heritha have always been one another’s very best friend and she is at peace knowing that her marriage is eternal and families are forever.
