Daniel N. “Dan” Crissman, 81, of Kittanning, passed away on Monday, November 13th, 2023 in the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He was born December 24th, 1941 in Mosgrove (Boggs Township), the son of Nathan B. and Cora Mae (Lockhart) Crissman. Dan graduated from Dayton High School, class of 1960, where he participated in various sports. He was a member of Christ (Rupp) Lutheran Church. Dan worked for Vic Cousins Construction Company for many years, then later for PennDOT in Armstrong County as an Equipment Operator, retiring in 2004. He was a member of Seneca Lodge #805 Free and Accepted Masons and former member of the Kittanning Lions Club. Dan volunteered many hours at functions as a social member for the Kittanning Township Vol. Fire Department.
He enjoyed NASCAR, Penguins hockey, the Steelers, camping and doing word search puzzles. Dan spent many years traveling to Marcy (Stubrich), Sydney and Ethan Prugh’s sporting events in many states and Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Katherine “Kaye” Shoemaker and Betty E. McCaslin; and a brother, Fred Crissman. Dan is survived by a brother, Larry Crissman, of Kittanning; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by the family with which he spent most of his adult life: Don and Barb Stubrich, Marcy, Chad, Ethan and Sydney Prugh and Jace Rearick; and yorkie, Gizmo.
Funeral services will be privately held and burial will be in Christ (Rupp) Lutheran Church Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home in Kittanning.
