Daniel A. Heilman, 72, of Ford City, passed away Sunday August 11, 2024 at home. He was born November 21, 1951 in Kittanning to the late Fred A. and Beulah Mae (Boyd) Heilman.
Dan worked his whole life beside his father on the family dairy farm doing everything from milking cows to planting crops in the field. He would butcher for himself at Heilman Custom Meats, Fines Packing, Pudliner Packing, and Riverside Market in the meat department. Dan also raised pure breed pigs Heilman Yorkshires.
He enjoyed farming, raising and showing pure breed pigs, participating at the farm show, gardening, and running his 399 Masey Ferguson tractor.
Dan is survived by his son Calvin Heilman of Rural Valley; son Steven (Jamie) Heilman of Turtle Creek; daughter Jennie Mae Heilman of Ford City; brother Samuel Heilman of Ford City; 3 grandsons Dylan, Alex, and Lucas; 1 great grandson Maverick; mother of his children and former wife of 25 years Mary Johns Himes of Brockway.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred A. and Beulah Heilman; grandparents Herman C. and Jennie Mae (Wyant) Heilman.
Friends will be received on Thursday August 15, 2024 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held on Friday August 16, 2024 at the Emmanuel Heilman Lutheran Church at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Eric Damon officiating. Additional viewing will be held at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment is in the Heilman Lutheran Church Cemetery.
