Daniel James Lynch II Obituary
Daniel James Lynch II, 50 of Templeton, Pa...passed away peacefully after a long illness on August 20, 2025... surrounded by his wife and family. Dan was born in New Castle, Pa to Daniel J. Lynch Sr. He was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steeler fan and always said that the *Best part of coming home was to come through the tunnels and his first view would be the beautiful city of Pittsburgh. He loved the sport so much that you could ask him anything about the Steelers and he had an answer. He was a keen observer of the games, he was always up-to-date on player statistics, and the latest draft picks and team strategies. Many Sundays consisted of him making homemade meatballs and spaghetti and sitting down with his mother-in-law Janice to watch the game. He also enjoyed family picnics outside at his dads.
Beyond Football, Dan was the husband to his wife of 7 years Melanie (Crowe, Wonderling) Lynch. He was the father of Tabby Berger who was the sparkle in his eye and the proud grandfather of Capri.
He spent his life working at Aero-Tech as a machinist and flipped houses while he lived in Florida. He was also an X-box gamer and you could find him playing online with his friend Taco, late brother Kevin and his nephew Hunter in a game of Sea of Thieves which consumed hours of his time. If not online he was on the phone with his brother Ken and friend James for hours also.
He will be remembered for his ability to recount any significant play of the Pittsburgh Steelers and his love that he gave to family and friends.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Melanie Lynch of 7 years...His parents Dan and Anita Lynch of Templeton, Pa...his brother Chucky Lynch of Templeton, Pa... his brother Ken Kala of Templeton, Pa...and his daughter Tabby and granddaughter Capri, both of Naples, Florida, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also left behind are his friends James...and Gene and Donna...and his beloved pets his best friend, Gunner, Lita, Zayda, Tyson, Pidge, Declan and Ben.
Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents Thomas Joseph and Alberta Jean (Bartberger) Lynch, Jack and Agnes Clark (New Castle, Pa), step grandparents June (Stevenson) brothers Kevin Kala (Erie) and Chad Blake (New Castle) and step mother Alice Lynch.
A celebration of Dan's life will be held at a later date which will be followed by a reception where memories and perhaps even a spirited discussion about the Steeler's upcoming season will be shared.
The family would also like to thank all the nurses (Lisa, Abby, Sharon, Pam, and Emily), Aides, and Housekeepers from both ACMH and Premiere Armstrong Rehab who went above and beyond taking care of and showing love to Dan. Your dedication did not go unnoticed. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning.
