Darrell George Edwards

Darrell George Edwards, longtime resident of Kittanning, passed away peacefully at Rosebrook Personal Care Home in Sarver, PA on July 21, 2022. He was born in 1931 to the late Edna and Alvin Edwards in Cowansville, PA. George served in the Army as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean Conflict. He had a 38 year career in the tire business. He enjoyed sports, coaching little league, and watching the Pirates and the Steelers. He was a friend to all he met and enjoyed family gatherings. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 65 years, Mary (Krizman) Edwards, Sisters Carol and Irene, and Brother James. 

He is survived by a Son, Alan, and Daughter-in-law, Beverly Edwards, of Lower Burrell, PA, a Daughter, Connie, and Son-in-law, Greg Butcher, of Carson, WA; three Granddaughters, Michelle (Butcher) Hicks, Amanda (Edwards) Barclay, Kristen (Edwards) Rehberg; seven great grandchildren, Ainsley, Micah, Parker, and Jackson Hicks of Lebanon, TN, Jack and Leo Barclay of Cheswick, PA, and Elliott Rehberg of Tarentum, PA. He is also survived by Brother and Sister-in-law Perry and Elizabeth Edwards of South Heights, PA; Sister Martha Johns of Granite City, IL; Sister Evelyn and Dick Crissman of Adrian, PA; Sister Gladys and Alton John of Kittanning, PA; and, Brother Sam and Ginny Edwards of Butler, PA. 

No viewing will be held, services will be private, as per the family’s request.  The Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning is assisting the family with their arrangements.
