David Lloyd Booher, 94, of Kittanning, died on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot, Pa. He was born on April 20, 1927, in North Buffalo Township, to the late David L. and Nancy (Hill) Booher. David owned Booher’s Nursery for more than 60 years and he also worked for Penn Allegheny Coal Co. He loved the outdoors, working in his greenhouses and digging his plants.
Left behind to cherish his memory includes his wife of more than 53 years, Mary Jane (Murphy) Booher; daughter, Lisa Zolocsik, of Worthington; granddaughter, Ashley Zolocsik and fiancé, Justin Claypool, of Worthington; nephew, Jim (Phyllis) Easley, with whom he was very close to; extended family friend and neighbor, Rob (Karen) Erdley; and numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son-in-law, Michael Zolocsik; sisters: Anna Easley, Dolores Jones, Elsie Petroff, Ethel Shoemaker, Nellie Brown and Florence Reimer; and brothers: Stanley, Howard and Denton Booher.
Family and friends of David, will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, in the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning. Additional viewing will be held from 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, in the funeral home, until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Victor Sansing officiating. Burial will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates. The family asks that anyone attending the visitation or service to please wear a mask or facial covering.
