David B. Conoran, 77, of Worthington, died on Sunday, April 10, 2022, in his residence. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on March 27, 1945, to the late Delores Haas and Edward Conoran. David was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Worthington, where he served on church council and he also attended the Oak Ridge Methodist Church. David was a lifetime member of the Worthington West Franklin Volunteer Fire Dept. and was a past president of the Armstrong County Fire School. He was a member of Old Time Fireman and was an EMT. He was also a freemason as well as a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. David was the secretary and treasurer for Worthington Borough. While spending the majority of his life in Worthington, he did live for 14 years in Maine, where he was employed as a hunting guide. Prior to becoming physically disabled, he worked at the Worthington Feed Store and was a local milkman and bricklayer. David was an avid hunter, Steeler and Penn State fan who also loved to cut firewood. He also enjoyed watching horse and tractor pulls at local fairs as well as going camping at Redbank Park. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and “fur babies” Heidi and Buttons, and his many trips to Harrisburg, and to the “Sight & Sound Theatre” in Lancaster. David lived and loved by his faith and always had a smile for everyone he met. He leaves behind to forever cherish his memory: his wife of 40 years, Linda; daughters, Raegan (Mark) Camuso, of Harrisburg, and Jennifer (Terry) Humble, of Punxsutawney; son, David (Patty) Conoran, of Hamilton; sister, Debbie Webb, of New York; three step sons: Bill Ryan, Rick Ryan and Brian (Dawn) Ryan; nine grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and the upcoming birth of another great-grandchild; and special friend, Merle (Andrea) Cessna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Shelly Rearigh; infant daughter, Stacey Marie Conoran; step daughter, Linda Branan; in-laws, William and Lois St. Clair; step sister, Jean Rupert; sister-in-law, Barbara Penrose; step father, Loren Haas; and “fur babies” Turk and Susie. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, April 14, 2022, in the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington, from 2-7 p.m. Additional viewing will be held in the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Worthington, on Friday April 15, 2022, from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Carole Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Worthington Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in David’s memory to either the Worthington Lutheran Church or the Oak Ridge Methodist Church.
