Dixie Lee (Yount) Schaeffer

     Dixie Lee (Yount) Schaeffer, 88, of Kittanning, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Kittanning Care Center.  She was born March 23, 1932 in Kittanning to the late Merle H. and Bertha “Susie” (Henry) Yount.  She was a graduate of Kittanning Senior High School, class of 1950.  Dixie was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and word find puzzles. 

     Left behind to cherish her memory includes her son, Harold W. Schaeffer Jr. and his wife, Sandy (Gillis) Schaeffer; daughter, Joy D. Cox and husband, Kenneth C. Cox; son, Danny M. Schaeffer and wife, Danielle (Swigart) Schaeffer; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Schaeffer Sr.; and grandson, Christopher “Bubbie” Walker.

     The family will privately hold funeral services.  Burial will fbe in Mateer Cemetery, Templeton, Pa.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.
