Dolores Mae (Fox) Slagle, 91, of Templeton, went to her eternal home in Heaven on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Dolores was born on July 18, 1934, in Templeton to Benjamin and Ruby (Bish) Fox.

Dolores married the love of her life, Earl Slagle, Sr., on May 26, 1956, and the two were married for 66 years until his death in 2022.

After graduating from Dayton High School in 1952, Dolores started working as a bookkeeper at the former George's Tire Service in Kittanning until she married. She then worked for the Templeton Post Office for 20 years.

Dolores was a faithful member of the Templeton Community Church (formerly Templeton United Methodist Church) all of her life, and rarely missed a Sunday service. She was the church’s treasurer for 58 years, taught Sunday School for nearly as many, and also played the piano there for over 80 years. Her talent as a pianist was admired by many as she played her left hand by ear and could play hymns without looking at the music. As a Sunday School teacher, she touched the lives of many, bringing them to know Christ as their Savior.

In her free time, Dolores enjoyed baking and cooking. She was well known for her chocolate chip and filled cookies. She also enjoyed reading and knitting, particularly dishcloths. She took great pride in her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Dolores is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister, Florence Marlene Fox, and her daughter, LuAnn Cloak. Left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Earl (Lisa) Slagle, Jr., son-in-law, Randy Cloak, granddaughters, Kelly (Bradley) Craft, Julie (Philip) Parks, Faith (Michael) Christley, great-grandsons, Luke Craft and Paxton Parks, brother, Homer (Ada) Fox, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom she loved dearly in addition to close friends, Bernice Cochran, Alice Mae Lookabaugh, and Lois Walker, among others.

Friends and family will be recieved at Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA, on Wednesday May 27, 2026 from 3 to 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be held in the funeral home will begin on Thursday, May 28, 2026  at 10:00 A.M. followed by funeral service at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Craig Lindhal officiating. Interment will follow at Cochran Cemetery in Templeton.
