Donald Frederick Kirkpatrick, 91, of Ocala, FL, formerly of Kittanning (Sunnyside), went home to our Lord on August 2, 2026, at HCA Florida West Marion Hospital.  Born on April 18, 1935, in Dayton, PA, he was the ninth of ten children of the late Arthur V. and Mamie E. (Anderson) Kirkpatrick.  In 1956, Don married Lucinda Annie Livengood. They shared 65 years of marriage and raised two children, the late Robert Kirkpatrick and Linda Kirkpatrick Trostle.  In 1958, Don enlisted in the U.S. Army, served in Korea following the war, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Specialist Four. He then worked for West Penn Power, later Allegheny Power and First Energy, for 36 years, retiring as the Meter Reading/Accounts Supervisor.

A longtime member of Mount Union Bible Church, Don was deeply devoted to his church family, a faithful presence in the life of the congregation,  and served on the church council for decades. He also sang bass for the Victory Five, a Southern Gospel quintet. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. Above all, he loved his wife and devoted his later years to caring for her as she lived with dementia.

Don is survived by his daughter, Linda (David) Trostle, of Ocala, FL; two sisters, Mary Norton of Arlington, VA, and Shirley McEntire of Dayton, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Don was preceded in death by his wife, Lucinda Kirkpatrick; his son, Robert Kirkpatrick; his brothers, William and Arthur Kirkpatrick; and his sisters, Florence Stiteler, Sara Ann (Sally) Kowalcyk, Lillie France, Margaret Orr, and his twin sister, Dorothy Kuhta Smith.  His family rejoices that he is now in the presence of the Savior he faithfully served throughout his life.

Family and friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, until time of funeral service at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Leonard Finn will officiate.   Interment will be in Ford City Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gifted Tree project in the Appalachian Forest of the Eastern United States, a place where Don and his family created many cherished memories while camping together.
