Donald Royce Yockey

Donald Royce Yockey, 94, of Adrian, passed away peacefully Monday June 10, 2024 at Quality Life Services Sugarcreek where he was cared for the past three weeks.  He was born November 27, 1929, the son of the late Samuel and Allene (Crissman) Yockey.  He was retired from Freeport Brick Company, Reesedale.  He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Alvera M. (Toy) Yockey, whom he took wonderful care of prior to her passing in December of 2008.  He was an avid sports fan and nothing pleased him more than watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their various sporting and cheering events.  Steeler games will never be the same as he always enjoyed spending the day with family watching the game.  He also enjoyed Sunday morning church services, as he was a faithful member of Adrian Community Church of God.  

Survivors include his sons, Donald W. (Jackie) Yockey and Kevin (Sandy Stallard) Yockey; daughter, Lori (Richard) Bordick; grandchildren, Amanda (Chad) Hill, Derek (Carissa) Yockey, Tyler (Christina) Bordick and Cameron Yockey (Bree Thorpe); great-grandchildren, Drew Hill, Emerson Hill, Cade Hill, Jayce Yockey, Roree Yockey and Rhett Bordick; and brother, Robert N. (Lee) Yockey.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, David L. Yockey.  

Our family would like to thank Quality Life Services for their wonderful, compassionate care given during his short stay with them.  

Friends will be received on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Adrian Community Church of God, 115 Brown Rd., Adrian with funeral service to immediately follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Wes Lewis officiating.  Burial will be in Limestone Cemetery, Adrian.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Don’s honor to the Adrian Community Church of God Building Fund.  Arrangements are under the care of the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Cowansville, Pa.
