Donna Kay Thomas, 89, of Kittanning, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. “Kay” was born March 27, 1935 in Mahoning Township, PA to the late Harry W. and Jeanette A. (Cousins) McCauley. Kay graduated from Kittanning High School in 1953, and in 1955, from Business Training College in Pittsburgh as a Medical Secretary. She married James R. Thomas on September 10, 1955, celebrating 65 years of marriage before his passing in 2021. She worked at Montana Heart Association in Great Falls, Montana and Child Guidance Center in Kittanning before raising her family. She earned her insurance license in 1986 and retired in 2012 from Thomas Insurance, the agency that she owned with her husband for 28 years. Kay was very active with KHS reunions and lunches, enjoyed Silver Sneakers at the YMCA, reading, sewing, gardening, camping, traveling in the Airstream and spending time with family. 

Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kelly T. Martin, of Savannah, GA and Traci T. (John) Walkosak, of Lakewood, OH; grandchildren, Claire E. Walkosak and Thomas J. Walkosak, of Lakewood, OH; brother-in-law, Joseph M. Husar and his wife Barb Husar, of Kittanning; and nephews, Casey (Vanessa) Husar of North Carolina and Jason (Pam) Husar of Kittanning. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sue (Joseph) Husar and niece, Barbara Husar. 

Friends will be received on Monday, August 5, 2024 from 5-8 p.m. at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, Pa 16201. A funeral service will be held privately by the family at a later date. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Ford City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Orphans of the Storm, P.O. Box 838, Kittanning, PA 16201 or the Kittanning Public Library.
