Doris "Pinky" Reed

Doris “Pinky” Reed of Templeton, Pa, born February 18, 1930, died at Back-to-Basics Personal Care in Dayton Pa on August 21, 2023. 

Daughter of Carl and Florence (Boyd) Magan. Pinky was a homemaker for most of her life but had several jobs to include Essex, Mr. Donut and the Pine Township Election Board for many years. She was also a lifetime member of the Templeton Presbyterian Church and donated to many charities including the ASPCA. 

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Mrs. Robert (Penny) Pingley, sister, Mrs. Edward (Rose) Smith, brothers Jack Francis Magan, and Carl Andrew Magan, grandson Phillip Reed and son in laws Robert Pingley, and Domenic Dematteis. 

She will be missed by her husband Joseph G Reed of Templeton, daughters, Nancy Nelson and husband James of Harrisburg, Beverly Dematteis of St Marys, Libby Schafer of Ridgway, sons David of Dayton, Michael, and wife Jill, of Belknap, and Ronald of Templeton. 

Grandchildren, Angela Stateler, Jessica Nelson, Glenn Crissman, Justine Crissman, Elaina Reed, Adam Hoffman, and Emily Reed 

Great Grandchildren include Emma and Boden Stateler, Noah and Gavin Crissman, Carson Reed, Kiera and Kaylee Good, and Charlotte and Henry Hoffman. 

The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to Sherry Stockdale and staff for the loving care and personalized attention given to Doris by the Back-to-Basics Personal Care Facility. 

Family and friends will be received on Friday August 25, 2023 in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 South McKean Street, Kittanning, PA 16201 from 6:00 - 8:00pm. Additional viewing will be held in the funeral home on Saturday August 26, 2023 from 10am until time of funeral services at 11am.

Burial will follow in Cochran Cemetery, Templeton, PA.
