In Loving Memory of Dorothy J. Collar, with love and gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Dorothy Josephine Collar announces her passing on July 11, 2026. Born in 1928, she was the beloved daughter of Jack and Blanche McClafferty.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Dickman; her brother, Jack McClafferty; her husband, John A. Collar; and her sons, John Collar and Richard Collar.

She is survived by her daughter, Lindy Bowser (Richard); her grandchildren, Wendy, Heath, Jeremy, Bambi, Benjamin, and Rhonda and eight great grandchildren and other family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

Throughout her life, she found joy in staying active, spending time with family and friends. She was employed for many years by Montgomery Wards and the local Teamsters Chapter. She enjoyed softball, line dancing, and traveling, especially to Hawaii, Florida, Ireland, and on casino trips. These experiences reflected her lively spirit and her appreciation for fun, friendship, and adventure.

She was also a member of St. Mary’s Our Lady of Guadalupe in Kittanning, where her faith and community were an important part of her life.

Her family will remember her for the love she shared, the strength she showed, and the many memories she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
