Earl James Slagle Sr., 90, of Templeton, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 26, 1932 in Templeton to the late Jared and Grace (Keesey) Slagle.
Earl was a lifelong resident of the area, and retired from Ironworkers Local 3.
He was a member of the Templeton United Methodist Church, and a former volunteer fireman for the Pine Township Volunteer Fire Company.
Earl loved spending time with his family, going to camp in Marienville, yard sales, and going to town when he was able. He also enjoyed playing cards and watching Westerns.
Earl is survived by his wife of 66 years Dolores M. (Fox) Slagle of Templeton; son Earl (Lisa) Slagle Jr. of Templeton; daughter LuAnn (Randy) Cloak of Templeton; granddaughters Faith (Michael) Christley of Butler, Kelly (Bradley) Craft of Youngsville, NC., and Julie (Philip) Parks of Dayton; great grandsons Paxton Parks and Luke Craft; sister Virginia Milliken of Chicora.
He was preceded in death by his parents; several brothers Ossroe, Jerry, William, Harry, Jack, Robert, and John; three sisters Evelyn, Anna, and Nancy.
Friends will be received at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home in Kittanning on Tuesday November 1, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and Wednesday November 2, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday November 3, 2022 at 11:00 am with additional visitation from 10:00 am until the time of the service with Pastor Craig Lindahl officiating. Interment is in the Cochran Cemetery in Templeton.
