Edgar Johns, formerly of Worthington, PA, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026 at Magnolia Place of Saxonburg, PA.  Edgar was born on November 14, 1932 in Adrian, PA, to Sherman W. and Wilda (Helm) Johns.

Edgar was a member of the Worthington Presbyterian Church.  Edgar worked at Allegheny Ludlum in Brackenridge, PA and retired in 1994.  He enjoyed going to the Worthington Senior Center, traveling, playing cards, bingo, hunting, square dancing and gardening.  Edgar also enjoyed going to the casinos with his wife, Mary.  Edgar enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  His memory will be cherished by his daughter, Karen, and her husband Ty Krautbauer, daughter, Kimberly and her husband Frank Braden, and son, Michael and his wife, Marjorie Johns; grandchildren: Audrey and her husband, Scott Irvine, Wesley Krautbauer, Gregory and his wife, Courtney Braden, Stephanie and her husband, Matt Schrader, Danielle and her husband, Tommy Wolfe, Brooke and her husband, Nate Shearer, and Paige Johns; great-grandchildren: Reagan Irvine, Ella and Addison Braden, Ezra, Elsie and Elias Wolfe, and Lilah and Lily Shearer.  

Edgar is also survived by his brothers: Chambers Johns, of Worthington, Alton Johns and wife, Gladys, of Kittanning and Dennis Johns, of Adrian along with numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Johns; brothers, Hubert Johns, Sherman F. Johns and Richard Johns; sisters, Edna Koedel, Maxine Anthony, Mary Clark, Gladine Breene, Phyllis Roe and Olive A. Tarr; three infant brothers and one infant sister.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, August 5th from 10-11a.m. with funeral service immediately following at 11 a.m. at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington, PA with Pastor Steven Rigatti officiating.  Interment will be in Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery.
