Edward Leroy Crawford, 76, of Cowansville, Pa. died on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at his home after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 28, 1948 in Kittanning, the son of the late Roy and Maud (Mechling) Crawford, and he was a lifelong resident of the community. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War as a BOSN on USS San Marcos (LSD-25) and he was a construction laborer with Local 952. He was Presbyterian and his memberships included Masonic Lodge 805, Kittanning Elks Lodge BPOE 203 and the Cowansville American Legion. He was also a lifetime member of the NRA and USO member. Edward enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, riding his side-by-side, mowing the lawn, get-togethers and cookouts with family and friends, sitting on his deck and front porch and just relaxing.
He leaves behind to forever cherish his memory, his wife, Connie (Gutherie) Crawford, of Cowansville; sons, Edward J. Crawford, of Wattersonville and Chad M. Crawford, of East Brady; grandchildren, Ashley, Marley and Chase Crawford; sister, Diane Crawford, of Kittanning; nieces, nephews and cousins including Briget and Mike Fair; sister-in-law, Diane Gutherie Fair; and brother-in-law, James Gutherie. In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Betsy Gutherie; and his sister, Karen Jordan.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, Pa.
