Gary Stivason Obituary

Gary L. Stivason, 80, of Ford City, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021 at home. He was born August 11, 1940 in Kittanning to the late Harvey and Catherine (Bennett) Stivason. Gary was a retired mechanic from Alltel and served in the U.S Air Force. 

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ford City and Masonic Lodge #244. Gary enjoyed flying at the McVille airport where he got his private pilots license in 1981. He also enjoyed serving his church, Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Ford City. 

He is survived by his wife Linda M. (Crissman) Stivason of Ford City whom he married July 8, 1961; son Les (Joanne) Stivason of Ford City; daughter Cindy (Larry) Bandura of Manorville; brothers Darl (Peggy) Stivason of Worthington and Randall (Alexis) Stivason of Kittanning; sisters Linda Fries of Kittanning, Lorraine (Jerry) Trudgen of Kittanning, and Bonnie (Blaine) Fair of Kittanning; 3 grandchildren Father Tyler Bandura of New Alexandria and Nathan and Brooke Stivason of Ford City; one great granddaughter Shay Anna Stivason. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Roger Stivason and infant brother David Stivason. 

A private visitation and funeral service will be held at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning with Father Tyler Bandura his grandson officiating. Interment is in the Croyle Cemetery in Adrian.
