Geraldine "Geri" McIntyre Obituary

My beloved mother, Geraldine “Geri” Ann (Brown) McIntyre born July 13, 1940 peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, March 8, 2021. she took the Lord’s Hand as he lead her up the stairway to the Pearl Gates of Heaven to meet her family that passed before her. What a joyous day she will have, so shed no tears.  A lifetime resident of Red Mill Road, she was born to David Alexander Brown and Isabella Irene (Schall) Brown. She was born second of five children, Delores, Geraldine, Nancy, Janie, and David.  On January 14, 1961 she married Robert Charles McIntyre in a double wedding ceremony with her sister Nancy and her groom Donald Cravener. Something most people don’t get to experience.

She went on to have three wonderful children. Janice Ann, Robin Lee, and Robert “Bobby” Charles, which she loved and cherished with all her heart.  She was blessed with three grandsons and two granddaughters Douglas, Dustin, Dylan, Tonya, and Crystal. Three great grandchildren Aries, Kaden, and Westin which she enjoyed all her time spent with them.

She was a lifetime member of Christ Rupp Lutheran Church, and will be laid to rest there.  She worked several small grocery stores in Kittanning such as Laurie’s Market and Snyders Grocery Store. She also worked at Big River, MTW Sewing Factory and NAPCO Windows until she retired. After retirement she volunteered at Helping Hands in Rural Valley which she dearly loved doing.  She loved dancing even from a young age, growing up watching Bandstand. She loved having a good time with her friends, going out to eat, or even for a cup of coffe and a chat.  She enjoyed working on Word Search and Suduko, and when bored with that she would crochet beautiful afaghans and dish cloths to give to her friends, family, or anyone she thought needed one. She enjoyed life to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband Robert C. McIntyre Sr, son Robert C. “Bobby” McIntyre Jr, daughter Robin Lee (McIntyre) Cunningham, sister Delores I. (Brown) Ferraro, brother David A. Brown, and one niece and two nephews.  She is survived by daughter Janice A. Keim and fiancé Timothy A. Ross of Kittanning; grandsons Douglas Cunningham of West Virginia, Dustin Keim of Shelocta, Dylan Keim of Gettysburg and great grandchildren Aries, Kaden, and Westin
