Glenn A. Ruth Obituary

Glenn A. Ruth, 95, of Kittanning, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 .  He was born January 9, 1931 in Craigsville, Pa., the son of the late Robert and Florence (Barnhart) Ruth.  He was a lifelong resident of Craigsville and Kittanning.  Glenn was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Infantry.  Prior to his retirement, he worked for Penn Champion in East Butler.  He was a member of Cornerstone Assembly of God Church and was a member of the Gideons.  He became an ordained minister in his forties and helped with a jail ministry.  He went to fairs to talk about Jesus to anyone who wanted to listen and put tracts everywhere.  Dad prayed for a multitude of people.  If he knew you he prayed for you, if he didn't know you he prayed for you too.  He loved being outside and enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing and vintage cars.  Dad really loved Jesus.  He was a great father and grandfather.  Dad was a loving, kind and generous man who had integrity.  He touched a lot of peoples lives.  He trusted God to guide him throughout his life.  "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race.  I have kept the faith"- 2 Timothy 4:7.

He leaves behind his son, Jim (Carol) Ruth, of Kittanning; daughter, Cindy (Tom) Hays, of Saxonburg; his grandchildren, Jim Schawl, Glenn Schawl and Stephanie Fair; and 2 great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara (Heilman) Ruth; his son, Bill Ruth; his brothers, Russell and Donald Ruth; and sister, Helen Rose.

We, the family, would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Quality Life Services Sugar Creek.
