Gloria J. (Bowser) Ruffaner

Gloria J. (Bowser) Ruffaner, 92, of Worthington, died on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, in Quality Life Services-Sugarcreek. She was born on June 26, 1931, in Kittanning, to the late Rufus C. and Florence C. (Lewis) Bowser.  Gloria was a resident of Worthington, all of her life and she attended the Worthington Baptist Church. 

She met Keith Ruffaner when he came to bale hay for her Dad. They were married on Aug. 24, 1949, and raised their two children and worked together on their dairy farm. She cooked many meals for farm hands and church dinners. Keith and Gloria had 68 years together until his passing on Aug. 30, 2017. She belonged to Woodmen and Ladies Home Extension and loved teaching young children about Jesus for more than 50 years. 

She leaves behind to forever cherish her memory: daughter, Charlene Bundy, of Worthington, son, Ronald (Beth) Ruffaner, of Worthington; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jason and Megan Ruffaner and their children, Anna and Cole, of Worthington, Beckie and Scott Williams and their children, Elsie and Cora, of Kittanning, Sara and Scott Bowser and their children, Brady and Brock, of Kittanning, Jared and Diane Bundy and their children: Zachary, Brooklyn and Alivia, of New Brighton; sister, Shirley Shearer, of Zelienople; brother-in-law, Glenn Anthony, of Worthington; as well as three nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Ruffaner; sister, Deloris Anthony; and brother-in-law, Robert Shearer. 

Family and friends of Gloria will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023, in the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington.  

Additional viewing will be held from 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, in the Worthington Baptist Church until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Daniel Basham officiating.  Burial will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gloria’s honor to Three Rivers Hospice, 300 Oxford Drive, Suite 200 Monroeville, PA 15146.
