Harry Jack Slagle Sr. , 70, of Kittanning died on Wednesday November 24, 2021 in the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center.
He was born on February 9, 1951 in Kittanning to the late Edward Jack & Harriet Pearl (Householder) Slagle.
Harry retired as a caster from Eljer Plumbing in Ford City after 23 years.
He attended Kittanning High School before graduating in Topeka, KS
Harry was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Army enlisting in 1972. He served 8 ½ years doing 2 tours of duty in Georgia, 1 in Kansas and 1 in Georgia.
He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, classic rock, spending time with his children & grandchildren. Harry loved reading to his great grandchildren who called him “Big Pappy”, his Saturday morning breakfast with his son & family, and baking with his daughter in law Mandy.

Sons- Harry Jack Slagle Jr. & Jason Slagle
Daughters in Law- Amanda Slagle & Deana Slagle
Grandchildren- David Hozier, Anthony Hozier, Tyler Slagle, Jacob Slagle, Meranda Slagle, & Evan Slagle
Great Grandchildren- Kallidora Hozier, Kalieghanna Davis, Lola Hozier, Kaison Davis & KaLauna Davis
Brothers- Russell, Daniel & Timothy Slagle
Close Family Members- Summer Davis, Shyanne Putman & Taylor Moats
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother; Samuel Slagle
Family and friends will be received on Sunday November 28, 2021 in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 South McKean St., Kittanning, Pa 16201 from 6:00 – 9:00pm. A private family memorial service will be held in his church at a later date.
Harry’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the VA, especially the staff at 5 West for their exceptional care and to his daughter in law Mandy for staying by his side.
