Hazel R. Armrose, age 93, of Kittanning, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on September 9, 2022.
She was born April 24, 1929 in Kittanning, PA to the late William S. and Pearl (McHaddon) Claypool.
Hazel was a 1948 graduate of Kittanning High School.
She was employed by the G.C. Murphy Company, Ford City, the Joseph F. Finch Company, Schenley, and the Butler County Mushroom Farm, Worthington. Her most recent employment was Tax Collector of North Buffalo Township for 30 years, from which she retired in 1999.
Hazel was an active member of the Center Hill Covenant Brethren Church where she served on the church board, taught Sunday school and was involved in many other church activities.
She was a member of a knitting club for 54 years, that included many of her closest friends. Hazel was a wonderful hostess and enjoyed entertaining and having friends to her home which she continued planning and doing so, even in her 90’s.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn P. (Mark) Snyder of Kittanning, granddaughter Alisha Snyder and husband Paul Anthony Newman of Allison Park, PA, and great grandson, Oliver Mark Newman, sister, Blanche E. Hileman and nephew Raymond S. (Jennifer) Hileman of Kittanning.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur C. Armrose, who she married on May 19, 1956, and son William C. Armrose.
Friends will be received from 1-5 PM on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 South McKean Street, Kittanning, PA and from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM on Monday, September 12, 2022 at the Center Hill Covenant Brethren Church, 2039 Freeport Road, Kittanning, PA with Pastor Donald Peters officiating.
Interment will be at the Center Hill Covenant Brethren Church Cemetery, Kittanning, PA.
