Hazel Jean (Stewart) Orr

Hazel Jean (Stewart) Orr, 87, of Kittanning, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at Premier Armstrong Health & Rehabilitation Facility.  She was born Jan. 6, 1931, at the family homestead on Redmill Road in Kittanning Township, the daughter of the late Dewey and Ida (Barth) Stewart.  She worked various jobs including at Montgomery Ward, 5 Rubber, and for Armstrong School District.  Jean was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Kittanning.  She enjoyed listening to the radio, planting flowers, and going to church activities. She especially enjoyed helping raise her grandchildren.

Left behind to cherish her memory includes her daughter, Patricia (Brian) Russell, of Kittanning; son, Jeffrey Orr, of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Sarah (Jack) Jacobs, Emily (Brian) Baculik, Bradley (Keri) Orr, Tiffany Orr, Terra Cousins, and Rebecca Cousins; 12 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Victoria Orr; sister, Dolores Davis; brother, Wilford Stewart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elder “Sonny” Orr; and son, James E. Orr.

Friends will be received from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the chapel at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, with the Rev. Mark Brady officiating. Interment will follow.
