Helen Cravenor Obituary

Helen Mae (Brumbaugh) Cravenor, 97, of Kittanning, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.  Helen was a lifelong resident of the community, born in the village of Sunnyside, Kittanning on August 22, 1928 to the late Lorenzo Franklin and Frances Floretta (Grey) Brumbaugh.  She was a Christian and loved the Lord.  She is now resting with her Savior in Heaven.  Helen worked as a nurse's aide and was manager of the 1st Dollar Store in Kittanning.  When she became disabled, her daughter "Pamie" became her full-time caregiver.  She enjoyed quilting, gardening, baking and hunting.  She cooked wonderful Thanksgiving dinners.  She loved going to the Strip District in Pittsburgh.  Most importantly, she loved reading her Bible.  Helen also loved her family and loved being with them.  There was no place like her home for love, great meals, making apple butter, and warm hugs and an "I love you too, honey."

Left behind to forever cherish her memory includes her daughters, Pamela J. "Pamie" (Darrel) Cravenor Wingard, of Indiana, Pa., Sally Ann (Duane) Cravenor Polinsky, of Kittanning, Deborah Viola (William) Cravenor Waldron, of Leicester, N.C., Sarah Roberta "Bobbie" Cravenor Ramer (friend, Harry), of Elderton and Cynthia Lou (William) Cravenor Foester, of Kittanning; sisters, Nelda Flo (Robert) Brumbaugh Bowser, of Kittanning and Catherine "Kathy" Brumbaugh, of Franklin; grandsons: Jerald Leroy (Brenda) Wingard, of Clarksburg, Dale Wingard, of Alaska, William Paul Douglas, of Sagamore, Patrick (Tiffany) Waldron, of Lawndale, N.C., Marlin (Terri) Waldron, of Wilmington, N.C., Lloyd Russel Ramer, of Pittsburgh, Jason (Sarah) Ramer, of Indiana, Roger (Nicole) Ramer, of Ford City, Gary (Kiera) Snyder II, of Titusville, William (Faith) Cravenor II, of Mosgrove, Joshua Cravenor, of NuMine, David (Dawn) Cravenor, of Kittanning and John Robert Cravenor II, of Hooker; granddaughters, Jennifer Snyder McMillen, of Kittanning, Tina (Tim) Mechling, of Kittanning, and Chrissy; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Joan L. Stephens Cravenor (Mark Wolfe).

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Adam Cravenor; sons, John Robert and William Alan Cravenor; daughter, Kimberly Sue Bridge; grandson, Adam R. Cravenor; granddaughter, Diana Mae Cravenor; brothers, Ronald, George, Harry, Franklin, Michael and Thomas Brumbaugh; sisters, Beulah Mabel "Boots" (Brumbaugh) Bleggi, E. Louise (Brumbaugh) Schrecengost and Frances Virginia (Brumbaugh) Bowser; granddaughter, Marcie; great-grandson, Cody Douglas; son, Gregory Lewis (Jessica) Douglas; adn son-in-law, Gerald "Gerry" Ramer.   

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025 until time of funeral service at 4 p.m. at KENNEDY & BLODGETT FUNERAL HOME, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning, PA with Pastor Steve Rearick officiating.  Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
