Herbert E. "Herb" Coggon, 85, of Kittanning, passed away October 6, 2025 after an extended illness. Herb was born to the late Herbert T. and Hattie F. Coggon on April 9, 1940. He was a 1958 graduate of Kittanning High School and Williamsport Technical School. He worked at Harry M. Pollock Wholesale Grocers, Davis Buick Cadillac and Troy Alan Buick where he retired from as a parts Manager.
Herb was a 60 year member of the Kittanning East Brady Lodge #244 F&AM, and New Castle Consistory 32 degree. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard.Herb was of the Protestant Faith and was a devout Christian. He enjoyed going to camp in Wattersonville.
He is survived by his wife Pamela of 61 years; nieces Kimberly Smith and companion Roy Yockey , Susan Close and Joseph; great-nieces Alexandra Coggon, Emily Close; great-nephew Liam (Rachel) Doms, Dominic (Amanda) Close; 3 great-great- nephews and 2 great-great-nieces and numerous cousins. Extended family sister-in-laws Sharon and Karen Scaife; brother Jim Scaife and sister Carol Thomas; many nieces and nephews and his dog "Ed"
Herb was preceded in death by his parents and sister Judith "Judy" Smith and husband R. Gerald Smith; great-nephew Jerad Close and great-great-nephew Daxton Close.
His greatest joys were his family and he was always available to help others.
Per his wishes there will be no public viewing or service.
