Homer E. Schrecengost

     Homer E. Schrecengost, 84, of Kittanning went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 7, 2021, at UPMC Magee Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born October 19, 1936 to Ellsworth and Janet (Miller) Schrecengost.  Homer was married in April 1957 to Shirley A. Wilson until her death in May 2012.  Homer was retired from Allegheny Ludlum in the carpentry department, where he had over 30 years of service.  He was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Kittanning.  Homer was happiest when he was spending time with his family. He was a jack of all trades and loved helping his children and grandchildren with all types of projects.  He enjoyed traveling and gardening. Homer was a licensed pilot and owned his own plane. 

     Survivors include his wife of nearly 8 years, Shirley (Kozicki) Schrecengost, whom he married May 25, 2013; children Jill (Gary) Meyer; Jay (Joyce) Schrecengost, Kimberly (Nick) Maroulis, Mike Kozicki, and Michele (Gary Pirl) Crytzer; daughter-in-law, Shari Schrecengost; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Lloyd Schrecengost and Lyle Schrecengost.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Shirley (Wilson) Schrecengost, and two sons, Jack Schrecengost and Jed Schrecengost. 

     Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. at Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning, Pa. An additional hour of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 p.m. with Pastor Robert Flick officiating.  Burial will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.  Guests attending the visitation and services for Homer are respectfully asked to wear a mask or face covering and follow all CDC/Pa Health Departement health and safety protocols.
