James Charles Foster, 76, of Sherrett, Pa. died on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital. He was born Dec. 14, 1946, in Sherrett, the son of the late Kenneth Foster and Mildred Brink, and was a lifelong resident of the community. Jim retired from Eljer after 41 years, working as a mold maker. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army as Sgt. 1st Infantry Division 16th Mechanized. He belonged to the Protestant Adrian Assembly of God, preached by his wife. He was a lifetime member of Hilltop Beagle Club where he had many field champions. Jim also belonged to Post 325 American Legion, was President of Local 155 for many years, and Indiana Glass Club. He enjoyed gardening and spending quality time with his kids and grandkids.
He leaves behind to forever cherish his memory, his wife, Linda Sue, of Sherrett; daughters, Janette Pennington, of Kittanning and Annette Dranzik (Brian), of Chicora; son, James S. Foster (Rachelle), of Cowansville; grandchildren: Patrick, Tomirlea, Madison and Tyler; and great-grandchildren: Jackson, Ellie Mai, River, Bellany and Charlie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Foster; and granddaughter, Megan.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023, at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 832 E. Brady Road, Cowansville, Pa. Additional viewing will be held in the funeral home on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, from 11 a.m. to noon, with funeral service to immediately follow at noon with his wife, Pastor Sue Foster, officiating. Burial will be in Sherrett Cemetery.
