James Leroy Enty, 91, of Ford City, died on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at The Ridge and Heritage Meadows. He was born July 27, 1933 in Templeton, Pa., the son of Walter F. and May Enty. James spent the first 18 years of his life in Templeton and the next 54 years in Germany before coming back to the U.S.A. He was a highly decorated U.S. Army veteran, retiring as Command Seargeant Major, serving three tours of duty in Vietnam. James was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan including the Penguins, Steelers, Pirates and the basketball team. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He leaves behind to forever cherish his memory, his granddaughter, Rebecca White and husband, Sam, Sr., of Natchez, Mississippi; son, Walter Leroy Enty, of Manhein, Germany; granddaughter, Natascha Webber, of Manhein, Germany; great-grandchildren, Letishe Webber, of Manhein, Germany, Sam White, Jr., of Natchez, Mississippi and Ranisha White, of Natchez, Mississippi; great-great-grandchildren, Ayce and Anna White, of Natchez, Mississippi; and dear friends that are like family, Floyd and Diane Claypoole and family, of Kittanning, Pa. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Johanna Enty, and daughters, Gloria Enty and Cornelia White.
Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning, Pa. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 5, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mike Bowser officiating, with an additional hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Cochran Cemetery in Templeton, Pa.
