James Edgar "Ed" Storey, 86, of Kittanning, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at home. Ed was born Sept. 8, 1924, in Kittanning, a son of the late James Thomas Storey and Greta (Patton) Storey and he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for B&G Construction for more than 40 years. He was a member of West Glade Run Presbyterian Church and the Hilltop Antique Tractor Pull Club. He enjoyed farming, pulling tractors, hunting and his chicken. Ed farmed all over the area and was a friend to everyone. He was the greatest Dad and he was our hero. His family ran a sawmill in Walkchalk for many years. He loved the Lord. Survivors include his daughters, Linda Vojna (David), of Kittanning, Jacqueline Storey-Atkins, of Kittanning, and Edna Jean Bossick, of Canton, Ohio; sons, James Storey Jr., of Kittanning, and Thomas Storey, of Kittanning; aunt, Mable McNutt, of Kittanning; dear friend and caregiver, Madelyn North, of Kittanning; brother, John Storey, of Kittanning; and grandchildren, Aaron John, of Sligo, Nathan Vojna, of Ford City, Heidi Sumnary, of Canton, Ohio, Nicole Cyr, of Londonderry, N.H., Kristine Sledge, of Kittanning, Brent Bossick, of Canton, Ohio, Greta Storey, of Kittanning, and Jessica Storey, of Kittanning; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Anna (Brown) Storey, who died in 1986; and two grandsons, Thomas Storey Akins, who died in 1980, and Rudy James Akins, who died in 2010. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Saturday in the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME in Cowansville with Rodney Miller, of Harvest Community Church, officiating. Interment at Lawn Haven Burial Estates. Memorial contributions may be made to Three Rivers Hospice, 1195 Jacks Run Road, North Versailles, PA 15137
