Janet Lorette (Guthrie) George, 85 of Worthington, died on Saturday, November 14, 2020 due to complications of Covid 19, at Kittanning Care Center. She was born August 31, 1935, in Ford City, to the late Tomer H. and Grace L. (Klingensmith) Guthrie. She was a CNA for 46 years, working at various Nursing Homes in the area. She was a very active member of Christ Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Ford City. She loved to participate in anything she could to help the church and to spread God’s word. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court Patricia. She went to many of the nursing homes in the area to do the Rosary with Residents, on a monthly basis. She was also a member of The Legion of Mary at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Kittanning. She very much loved to go and do anything she could to help the church spread their message.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her Daughter, Theresa (Mitchell) Murray, of Worthington; her grandsons, Tyler(Megan) Gongola, of Spokane, Washington, Andrew Lerner, Charles Murray and Anthony Murray, all of Worthington; her only granddaughter, Elizabeth Murray, of Ambridge; her great grandson, Gwydion Gongola; and her great granddaughter, Gwendolyn Gongola. She is also survived by her sisters: Mary Henry of Penn Hills, Grace Taylor, of Kittanning and Nancy Crissman, of Vandergrift. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Merle, Donald, Wesley, Tomer, Hugh and James, and by her sisters: Alma Odrechowski, Dorothy Frazier and Moss Flick.
Friends will be received on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning from noon until time of Memorial Service at 1:30 p.m. with Father Eric J. Dinga of Christ Prince of Peace officiating. Burial will be in Ford City Cemetery.
