Janet Arlene (McAuley) Schuey, 77, of Kittanning, died on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, in ACMH Hospital. She was born on May 5, 1944, in Kittanning, to the late David and Minnie McAuley. She was a graduate of East Brady High School. Janet was a state certified day care provider which she retired from after 47 years. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Adrian. Janet did floral design, specializing in weddings. She enjoyed camping with family. She loved to travel. Janet lovingly cared for hundreds of day care children throughout her 47-year career. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Janet leaves behind to cherish her memory: sons, David “Chris” Schuey and wife, Karen, of Kittanning, and Clint Schuey and wife, Jackie, of Kittanning; daughter-in-law, Tammy Schuey, of Fenelton; grandchildren: Stacey, Tawnya, Zach, Travis, Sarah and Logan; great-grandchildren: Dillon, Karissa, Trent, Morgan, Kayden, Anthony, Ethan, Emma, Maddox, Piper, Ezra and Eli; sisters: Mary Ann (Michael) Hinson, of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Jane (Bill) Boarts of Oak Island, N.C. and Laurie (Jim) Shannon of Marble Falls, Texas; and several nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Felix Schuey; son, James Frank Schuey; grandsons, Randy Wolfe and James Frank Schuey, Jr.; sister, Cynthia Duncan; and step mother, Kay McAuley.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, and Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. Additional viewing will be held from 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 280 St. Mark’s Road, Adrian, Pa. 16210, until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Matthew Vatalare officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Family asks that any memorial contributions be made in Janet’s name to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 280 St. Mark’s Road, Adrian, PA 16210.
