Jesse Ralph Mergen

Jesse Ralph Mergen, 69, of Kittanning, died on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at his home.  He was born in Butler, Pa. on November 5, 1955, the son of John Mergen and Daisey French, and was a lifelong resident of the community.  He was a burner at P.J. Greco.  He attended Harvest Church in Kittanning.  Jesse enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, collecting coins and guns, spending time with family, friends and his dog, Buddy.  Survivors include his wife, Theda Mergen, of Kittanning; son, Scott Mergen, of Kittanning; daughters, Stacey McDermott, of Ford City and Faith Dick (Paul), of Iaeger, WV; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and siblings: Eleanor Shumaker, of Ashtabula, Ohio, Stella Shumaker, of Spring Church, James Mergen, of Apollo, Rachel Steele, of Distant, Abbie Shaner, of Kittanning, Danny Mergen, of Kittanning and LouAnn Croyle, of Kittanning.  Jesse was preceded in death by his father, John Mergan (1959) and mother, Daisy French (1995); and brothers, Ronald and John Mergen.  Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St, Kittanning, Pa.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Will Land officiating, with an additional hour of visitation prior to the service.  Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
