Joanne L. (Hooks) Potkalitsky

Joanne L. (Hooks) Potkalitsky, 92, of Kittanning, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025 at UPMC Magee Hospital. She was born March 4, 1933 in Reesedale to the late Amos Merle and Minnie Grace (Johns) Hooks. Joanne worked as a waitress in New Jersey for over 30 years and cooked at a few personal care homes. She was a member of the Brush Valley Brethren Church in Adrian. She loved reading, especially the Bible, Joanne enjoyed talking to people and could start a conversation with anyone.

Joanne is survived by several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Walter Potkalitsky; sister Ruby McAfoose; brothers Earl Hooks, Marcus Hooks, Ivan J.Hooks, Kenneth M. Hooks, and three infant brothers.

Friends will be received on Thursday November 13, 2025 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held on Friday November 14, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the Adrian Community Church of God with Pastor Wesley Lewis officiating. Additional visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment is in the Brush Valley Brethren Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
