John C. Gutherie, 89, of Garrettsville, OH, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021. He was born May 26, 1932, in Sugar Creek Township, PA to Heugh L. and Lillie J. (nee Snyder) Gutherie. He served in the U.S. Army, and was a retired as a welder from Chrysler in Twinsburg, OH after 38 years of service. John loved to play horseshoes and was a fan of Dirt Track racing and NASCAR, and watching his favorite program, RFDTV. He truly loved taking vacations, had been on multiple cruises, and traveled to many places in the world.
John will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Pauline, with whom he was blessed to share 68 years of marriage; children, Clifford (Kathy) Gutherie, Terry (Marjorie) Gutherie, Wilbert (Julie) Gutherie, and Karen (Rusty Fletcher) Davis; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Florence (Floyd) Davis, and many nieces and nephews, as well as many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved son, Phillip Gutherie; siblings, Jim Gutherie, Marlin Gutherie, Wilbert Gutherie, Elsie Welton, and Alverda Gillen; and son-in-law, Mark Davis.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the funeral service to immediately follow at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 832 East Brady Rd., Cowansville, PA 16218. Burial will immediately follow at Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington, PA.
