John Porada, 82, of Kittanning, died Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Premier Armstrong Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility.
He was born June 24, 1935, in Kittanning, the son of the late Adam and Rose (Demertis) Porada.
He was retired from Pullman Standard in Butler, and was an U.S. Air Force veteran.
He was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Kittanning.
John previously volunteered at the Armstrong County Historical Museum and Genealogical Society. He enjoyed woodworking as well as reading and going to the library.
Mr. Porada is survived by his son, Adam Porada, of Florida; sister, Mary Porada, of Kittanning; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Agnes Soltis.
Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 101 W. High St., Kittanning, with Father Douglas E. Dorula officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in John’s memory to Kittanning Public Library, 280 N. Jefferson St., Kittanning, Pa. 16201.
