John Warcholak, 96, of Applewold, died Friday, June 8, 2018, at home.
He was born Jan. 18, 1922, in Ford City to the late Daniel and Mary (Nahabreska) Warcholak.
He was a life long resident of the area and retired after 38 years from PPG Industries in Ford City. John was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army and served in the Pacific Theater.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church in Kittanning. John was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Kittanning, and BPOE Elks Lodge No. 230 in Kittanning. He enjoyed golfing, cooking, and was an accomplished wood worker.
Survivors include: a daughter, Linda (Mark) Cunningham, of Kittanning; sons, Michael (Linda) Warcholak, of West Leechburg, Dennis (Brenda) Warcholak, of Kittanning; a sister, Betty Smith, of Greensboro, N.C.; sisterin law Rosemary Warcholak, of Kittanning Kittanning; and five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Bruna Warcholak, who passed away May 31, 2017; brothers, Michael and Daniel; and sisters, Mary Neutrelle, Anne Lobur, and Helen Warcholak.
Friends will be received on Monday June 11, 2018, from 9 a.m. until the time of parting prayers at 11:30 a.m. at Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning followed by a Funeral Mass at noon at St. Mary’s Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church in Kittanning. Rev. Douglas E. Dorula will be officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Kittanning
