He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Karen L. (Risher); his son, John Walker Buzard IV and his wife Wendy, of Applewold; his daughter, Shelly Castorino, of Narberth, PA; five grandchildren including Bethany Guminey and her husband Bryan of Kittanning; Jacquelyn Castorino and her husband Benjamin McGovern of Merion Station, PA; Benjamin Buzard and Ali Mascaro of Cranberry Township; Christine Castorino of Narberth, PA; and John Walker Buzard V and Lindsey Cornman of Applewold; four great-grandchildren including Isaiah Guminey, Piper Guminey, Leonard McGovern and Thomas McGovern; one sister Millie Tarr and her husband, Frank, of Kittanning; and many nieces and nephews.
Jack loved nature and could be seen walking along the Allegheny River in Kittanning or the Armstrong Trail in Ford City with one of his many dogs, and we know all of them will be excited to walk with him again in heaven. He was an avid fisherman. In 1974, he was recognized by the Pennsylvania Fish Commission for his outstanding angling achievement when he caught a 22 1⁄2 inch, 5 1⁄2 lb., smallmouth bass in the Allegheny River. During the later years of his life, he continued to chat with local fisherman at Crooked Creek.
For many years, Jack was one of the regulars at Hawk’s Bait & Tackle Shop on South Jefferson Street in Kittanning.
From the late 1960s to the mid-1980s, Jack was well-known throughout the region as the Town Talk breadman for Braun Baking Company. He served businesses throughout Worthington, Kittanning, Rural Valley, and Plumville. He loved talking with and meeting new people.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and their husbands including Nola Jean Walbert and her husband, John, of Ford City; Jon Alda Rumbarger and husband, Harold, of Kittanning; Mary Ann Dougherty and husband, Dennis, of Edison, NJ.
