Joseph "Ben" Benjamin Clever, Jr., 75, of Kittanning, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at his home.  He was born in Templeton, Pa. on June 30, 1950, the son of the late Joseph Benjamin, Sr. and Dorothy (Adams) Clever, and was a lifelong resident of Armstrong and Indiana counties.  He was a retired coal miner and truck driver.  Ben was also a U.S. Navy veteran.  He loved NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon and William Byron, and enjoyed going to races with his daughter.  He was even nicknamed "24" because of his dedication to Jeff Gordon.  He enjoyed being chauffeur for his granddaughters until they started school and was devoted to his former dog, Spankey.  Ben also loved giving his friends nicknames.  

He leaves behind to forever cherish his memory, his wife, Beverly (Croyle) Clever; daughter, Jennifer Clever, of Butler, Pa.; son, Joseph "Ben" (Beth) Clever III, of Butler, Pa.; granddaughters, Sara and Katie Clever, of Butler, Pa.; and sisters, Isabel (John) Stile, of Indiana, Pa. and Rhoda Clever, of Kittanning.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Michael Clever; sisters, Carolyn Wadding and Joan Wolfe; and brother, Lindsey Clever.  

Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 with funeral service to immediately follow at 4 p.m. at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, Pa.  with Pastor Steve Rearick officiating.  Interment will be in Limestone Church of God Cemetery in Adrian, Pa.
